About

Sometimes I post political/issues/serious business stuff, and that has prompted me to offer some kind of explanation of this tumblog that maybe some people follow because they read me at The Mary Sue and maybe some people follow because I posted something they liked once or because they saw it on my twitter or something else; but that I actually started so that I and animateher.tumblr.com could stop sending each other .tumblr links on Facebook and instead just reblog things and tag each other in them.

Here’s the crux: I also run TheMarySue.tumblr.com Yeah, I am responsible (at differing levels) for running a blog, a tumblr, a twitter feed and a Facebook fan page.

Here’s how I do tumblr: I use this, my personal account, to like things and follow blogs. TheMarySue.tumblr.com is on our network-wide tumblr account, not this one, which is why it doesn’t really follow things or like things. The dashboard feed there is made up of ALL the follows of ALL our network’s tumblrs. It’s a mess, and unusable for actually looking at who I want to follow, so I don’t do a lot of tumblr work from TheMarySue.tumblr there.

So if THIS tumblr likes a post or follows a blog, in the majority of cases that is synonymous with TheMarySue.tumblr following or liking. About once every work day I go through my likes and sort every thing into either the queue here or the queue there. If you have a blog and have noticed that I post a lot of your stuff, I’m already embarrassed at how obvious it is so please just take it as a compliment. /hideface

What this means for THIS blog is that most of the time all the nerdy stuff that I like goes into The Mary Sue tumblr, because it’s getting looked at, it’s maintaining our presence on Tumblr, and it’s actually helping my job. This blog gets the really obscure stuff, the stuff that only I (or I and animateher) get, the left over Batman related stuff to keep from overloading TMS.tumblr with my favorite superhero, and the stuff that is just people making snarky political references or minecraft stories. Oh, and me making quick rants about stupid Rorschach statues.
